Projection Mapping

Videomapping is a technique which allows 2D projections to wrap around a 3D object. This creates all kinds of potential for alternative displays, effectively turning an everyday object into a brightly lit, high resolution display device.

We occasionally bring everyday objects (like appliances and toys) into the office to practice our videomapping skills. This was a weekend project, and uses two projectors with synced projection scenes (one for the toaster and one for the background).

Techniques learned on small objects can easily be applied to larger spaces.
