In 2009, PO-MO Inc. hosted their first promotional party, which featured a 45 foot long interactive wall which could be controlled by texts sent from audience member's cellphones. The wall projection had various characters from the book 'Alice in Wonderland'. Texting the names of different characters caused them to appear. The caterpillar would 'say' any words that didn't match a trigger phrase.
Only 200 people were in attendance, but over 1000 phone numbers were recorded by the system during the night. Attendees were sharing the number with people who were not at the event, and taking photos of the messages and actions transmitted to the wall by people outside the event. These photos were widely shared across social media sites like twitter and facebook.
