Interior Architectural Projection

Quinzmas 2011

For one night, the top of the stage at the Burton Cummings Theatre in Winnipeg became an interactive screen, which lit up to the music of Quinzy and House of Doc. The area above the stage was painstakingly mapped, and the animations were designed to simulate vines, bells, flocks of birds and many other motion graphic effects incorporated directly on the architecture.

A variety of effects were used to create dramatic animations, including bringing the paintings above the stage to life, a 3D dancing hippo, and a variety of mapping techniques to light up the architectural elements of the stage in time to the music. Thanks to Quinzy, EIKI and the theatre crew for making this project possible.
